Magnet links are standardized Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) that identify torrent transfers by their cryptographic BitTorrent Info Hash (BTIH) rather than requiring an intermediate .torrent file download. A typical magnet link looks like:
Because the magnet link only contains the hash and optional tracker addresses, your BitTorrent client must contact the swarm to retrieve the full file metadata (file names, piece sizes, and hashes) before file chunk downloading begins.
Adding a Magnet Link in Torrent Download Studio
On an authorized distribution website (such as Ubuntu, Debian, or the Internet Archive), long-press the magnet link and select “Copy link address”.
Open Torrent Download Studio. In the input field labeled “Paste Magnet Link here...”, tap and paste your clipboard content. Tap Start Download.
The native libtorrent engine extracts the BTIH infohash and announces to trackers and Mainline DHT. A new card appears in your Transfers list. During the first few seconds or minutes, the client requests metadata pieces from peers. Once resolved, active piece transfer commences.
If a transfer shows “Downloading metadata” or 0 seeders for an extended period, it indicates that none of the currently contacted swarm peers have replied with the metadata extension (BEP 0009), or that UDP tracker packets are restricted on your current network.

BitTorrent transfers establish direct socket connections with other swarm peers. Your public IP address is visible to participating peers and trackers in that swarm.
Encryption availability depends on the selected peer and tracker. Torrent Download Studio does not guarantee encrypted transfers.
